Brazil–Russia Chamber reveals bilateral potential
26 de July de 2026Agreement between BRAVI and TV BRICS aims to promote national productions, boost cultural exchange and build joint projects across the group.
Brazilian independent audiovisual producers have gained a new strategic channel to showcase their work and creative projects on a global scale. Brasil Audiovisual Independente (BRAVI), one of the country’s leading industry associations, has signed a cooperation agreement with the international media network TV BRICS.
The agreement was signed by Mauro Garcia, executive president of BRAVI, and Janna Tolstikova, CEO and editor-in-chief of TV BRICS.
The partnership aims to strengthen cultural and humanitarian cooperation among the nations of the bloc, promoting the image and achievements of Brazil, Russia and other BRICS+ countries in cinema and culture.
Aligned with a contemporary view of international relations, the institutions share the view that educational and scientific cooperation is a vital component for building firm and mutually beneficial ties with specialists around the world.
Cultural exchange across the BRICS+
For Mauro Garcia, executive president of BRAVI, the initiative marks a milestone for Brazilian content:
“BRAVI – an association that brings together 675 independent Brazilian production companies present in 27 Brazilian states — is proud to sign an unprecedented cooperation agreement with TV BRICS in the field of content dissemination. Being able to circulate independently produced Brazilian audiovisual works in new territories, particularly in the major partner nations of the BRICS, is a source of pride and of enormous interest in joint actions between the audiovisual industries. I hope this is the start of a much broader partnership between TV BRICS and BRAVI,” Mauro said.
Aleksandra Burman, Director of the International Cooperation Department at TV BRICS, stressed that the network seeks to build bridges among creators worldwide while expanding the reach of independent productions:
“By bringing together filmmakers from different countries on its platform, the media network seeks not only to increase the visibility of these works but also to foster genuine cultural exchange. The arrival of independent Brazilian cinema in the TV BRICS ecosystem enriches our lineup with powerful narratives and opens the way for future co-productions and new deals among partner countries,” Aleksandra said.
Pillars of cooperation
To achieve these goals, BRAVI and TV BRICS plan to promote cinema and audiovisual content on four fronts:
1. Joint information projects
Actions that boost the audiovisual sector of Brazil, Russia and other member countries, as well as encourage professional dialogue through creative conferences, roundtables, seminars, masterclasses and joint festivals.
2. Communication partnerships
Communications support at film festivals and themed events organized by BRAVI.
3. Support for filmmakers
Active promotion of works by directors and filmmakers from BRICS+ countries, using the media resources and partner platforms of both organizations.
4. Information exchange
Mutual support in the dissemination of agreed content (links, announcements and institutional materials) on the official communication channels of both organizations.
