In the interview, Gilberto Ramos spoke about Russia’s strategic role as one of the main suppliers of fertilizers for Brazilian agribusiness and advocated deeper industrial cooperation, including local production projects, technology transfer and the development of new inputs aimed at increasing agricultural productivity.
Financial sector
The executive stressed that the Chamber works to expand financial mechanisms aimed at facilitating commercial operations between Brazilian and Russian companies.
The idea is to reduce barriers in international transactions through an interbank correspondence agreement that brings financial institutions from both countries closer and creates new alternatives for payment settlement in bilateral trade.
All of this helps increase the security, predictability and efficiency of operations between Brazilian and Russian companies.
Another highlight was the advance of digital assets, including cryptocurrencies, as instruments capable of increasing the efficiency of international operations.
Gilberto Ramos stated that the technological transformation of the global financial system paves the way for new business models and cooperation between Brazil and Russia, especially in a scenario of growing digitalization of the economy. The Chamber monitors these transformations and seeks to bring together companies, investors and institutions interested in innovative solutions for foreign trade.
Logistical infrastructure
The executive also reinforced the potential of the Rondon Quadrant Route, one of the five official corridors of the South American Integration Routes.
The corridor connects Rondônia, Acre and western Mato Grosso to Peruvian ports on the Pacific Ocean, reducing distances, logistical costs and transport time to Asian markets.
The route also integrates with Amazonian waterways and represents an opportunity to bring commercial flows between Brazil, Russia and Asia even closer, expanding the competitiveness of Brazilian exports and strengthening new international trade corridors.
New frontiers for trade, investment and strategic cooperation
Throughout the intense SPIEF program, the Brazilian mission took part in high-level meetings, international panels, interviews, business rounds, institutional negotiations and the signing of cooperation agreements.
The agenda addressed central themes for the future of relations between Brazil and Russia, including agribusiness, fertilizers, infrastructure, logistics, energy, technological innovation, digital assets, investments and economic integration within the BRICS and Eurasia.
