Brazil leads mission to China to strengthen logistics and investments
14 de October de 2025Event in Brazil identified values that act as “common denominators”, uniting nations in the pursuit of a more humane, supportive and evolved world.
The 2nd BRICS Forum was very constructive and impactful, addressing issues beyond the political and economic agenda. This time, discussions included themes such as values, human rights, culture, literature, cinema, family, health and innovation, among other relevant topics.
Held at the National Congress in Brasília from September 15 to 17, 2025, the gathering brought together members of parliament from BRICS countries and candidate nations, business leaders, cultural and public figures and civil society representatives.
In times of global challenges and political polarization, it was encouraging to see diverse nations identify shared values capable of connecting people and building bridges, signaling a possible path toward a world with greater unity and harmony.
Multipolar space for dialogue and exchange
The BRICS Forum highlighted a practical approach to peace: the art of seeking common ground, identifying values and objectives everyone can agree upon. This form of collective intelligence allows nations to build a solid foundation for dialogue and action from this point of convergence.
During the event, a document was signed establishing 12 core values for international cooperation. They are: sovereignty and equality of cultures; economic well-being and social justice; multipolar world; health; development; future generations; humanity and peace; mutual respect; mitigation of fanaticism; solidarity and unity; mercy; and culture of integrity.
This is the great legacy of the 2nd BRICS Forum:
Peace is built when we put aside what separates us
and start cultivating what unites us.
In this spirit, nations defined the common principles that bind them, creating a shared roadmap. Even with distinct worldviews, it is possible to agree on the essentials for a harmonious future.
Values and culture opening doors to broad cooperation
During the forum, Dmitry Kuznetsov, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, member of the International Affairs Committee and vice-president of the BRICS Forum, recalled the dream of Brazilian writer Jorge Amado:
“Of a world where man no longer sees another man as an enemy, and differences in skin color mean no more than differences in age, a world where all people are brothers. He spoke of our need to keep fighting, hoping that this will, one day, become reality. And this is what is happening now”, Dmitry emphasized.
The deputy also noted that through this understanding of shared values, it is possible to achieve new levels of success in economic, technological, cultural, social and humanitarian cooperation, as well as advances in business, education, medicine and health.
The BRICS Literature Prize and cooperation among writers from different countries were also highlights of the event (to be covered in a future article on this website). Kuznetsov expressed gratitude to the Brazilian Academy of Letters, the Russian Writers’ Union, the Russian Book Union and writers’ unions from other countries for their collaboration on the prize and the creation of the Alliance of Writers’ Unions. According to him, analyzing the nominated works allowed experts to identify classical and contemporary values that unite BRICS nations.
